Clubs Fair 2018
Spearheaded by the Supreme Student Government, students of Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology celebrate Clubs’ Fair at Students’ Center on November 12, 2018.
“I am hoping that this event will serve as a catalyst for all bona fide students of this state college in making them informed about the various clubs and organizations that are fully recognized by the administration” said Laurito Buog, Jr., SSG’s freshly-elected External Vice President.
The event sought to provide students an avenue to know oneself as they embark on a new path, and an opportunity for each campus organization to present their objectives and principles.
Mr. Rodrigo A. Salimaco, OSA Head, also left a message saying that being a college student is not all about books nor exams; but also an equal amount of social life. He added that the organizations are there to help students develop socially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Ending his speech, he left a reminder saying, “do not go into an organization that will deteriorate your academic status”.
Each club was also given the time to present and promote their organization’s goals and objectives through their respective representatives. PSALM, Anyag Lanog, Care Group, Catalyst, Ang Sidlakan, Codebyters, Red Cross Youth Organization, Muslim Student Organization, Guild of English Majors, PICE, MAS-AMICUS, and UCF were among the present organizations.
The event ended with a closing remark from Nelito B. Alfonso, SSG President, reminding everyone of the essence of this event and by giving a brief overview of the activities that are yet to happen in the day after.
