The College President




Dr. Edito B. Sumile hails from Mambajao, Camiguin where he finished with honors his elementary and secondary education.

Desirous to attain higher level of education and advance his professional growth, he got his BS Agriculture major in Entomology at Central Mindanao University, Bukidnon. His Master of Science in Entomology was obtained from the same university and his Doctor of Philosophy in Horticulture at the University of Southeastern Philippines, Tagum City.

Dedicated to be actively involved in his chosen field, he attended and participated in various trainings, seminars and conferences here and abroad, such as the Mindanao Peace Summit held in Universitiย  Sainz Malaysia, Palau Penang, Malaysia, the RD and E Review and Planning Conference in MMSU Ilocos Norte, and the Plantation and Nursery Management of Jatropha at UP-Los Banos, Laguna Philippines, to mention a few.

He also made himself available as resource person in agriculture-related ventures, and as facilitator of student-related activities. He was also a presenter of research papers in national and international conferences and as accreditor of the Accreditation Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (AACCUP).

Devoted to be of service in the academic community, he co-authored and published research studies which greatly made impact, for these were presented in numerous symposia and were acknowledged for their significance as can be gleaned from the given awards. He also is a member of some professional and scientific organizations.

Determined to continue his mission and goals in life, he willingly served as coordinator, chairman, and agency representative in different administrative activities and as a project leader to the undertakings of several municipalities in Davao Oriental.

Before he became president, he was the campus coordinator of the Cateel Extension Campus, Director for Research and Extension, College and Board Secretary and the then Vice President for Administration and Finance. All these duties groomed him to become what he is now, the 4th President of the DOSCST.
